Management

Peter Nordberg – Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Nordberg has over 25 years of sales, operations and executive management experience predominantly in the high technology field ranging from start-up organizations to privately and publicly held multi-billion dollar organizations. Prior to MAX, Mr. Nordberg was the Managing Director of privately held NorthRock Partners, an enterprise technology consultancy primarily focused on start-up organizations and building organizations to scale on a worldwide basis.

Mr. Nordberg was also a member of the Board of Directors of Propero Ltd. a venture-backed (3i) virtualization technology company headquartered in London, England. Mr. Nordberg has also provided assistance to various venture capital firms performing due diligence for evaluation of investment or providing strategy or execution assistance to VC funded portfolio companies. Prior to NorthRock, Mr. Nordberg was President and CEO of venture backed CrossCommerce, which provided a “sell side” SAAS based application suite to Fortune 1000 manufacturers. Prior to CrossCommerce, Mr. Nordberg was President of WebLogic; an enterprise software start-up based in San Francisco where he grew the organization by helping close the first 200 enterprise customers while closing two rounds of funding. WebLogic was acquired by BEA Systems for $200M and currently carries a multi-billion dollar market cap.

Mr. Nordberg has also been a speaker at industry related events such as Venture One, Enterprise Outlook, Java One and various Java User Groups throughout North America. Mr. Nordberg has also held executive sales and management positions with Computer Associates (Divisional Vice President), Ingres/The ASK Group (Vice President of North America, and AT&T (Regional Manager).

Mr. Nordberg to date has assisted or led the raising of over $85M in private and institutional funding.

Mike Larkins – President

Mike Larkins joined Max International in March 2008 bringing with him over 25 years of sales and executive management experience. His unique abilities have been demonstrated in the areas of corporate leadership, international expansion and start-up enterprises. In his career he has successfully brought together the right people, right strategy and the right operational systems to help companies grow and reach their potential.

Mike has a rich educational background in both business and international studies which includes a BA in Business Administration and Asian Studies, an MPA with a specialty in Organizational Behavior and PhD studies in Business Administrations.

As a member of the Senior Executive Team at FranklinCovey, Mike’s strategic contribution helped grow the company from $1 million in sales to $800 million over his 14-year tenure. He founded a sales division that focused primarily on MLM companies and developed customized productivity systems for their distributors. He and his team launched distribution and operations in more than 15 countries.

Mike is currently serving on the board of a local community bank and has served as CEO of two other companies.

As President of Max International, Mike will continue to guide the company into global markets with what he refers to as “rational exuberance.” Mike has lived in Japan for six years and his understanding of the culture and fluency in the Japanese language will be invaluable in introducing Max International into the world’s largest market.

Jeff Hill – Chief Financial Officer

Jeff began his career with an international accounting firm and worked with a variety of clients consulting, auditing and managing supply chains.

Jeff then went to work for an international network marketing company as the Director of International Finance. During his time there, he assisted in the opening of numerous international markets, facilitated company acquisitions, developed a team to implement a global ERP system and ensured compliance with all local rules and regulations.

Craig Case – Executive Vice President Field Development & Strategy

Craig graduated from the University of Utah in 1979, and immediately went to work for Xerox Corporation, where he twice excelled as the Top Sales Person in the United States. Craig joined Franklin Covey in 1988 and founded the sales division that serviced network marketing and direct-selling companies around the world.

While at Franklin he shared the principles of leadership personal effectiveness with 80,000 direct sellers in 15 countries. Craig has consulted with such industry giants as Nu Skin Enterprises, USANA, Nature’s Sunshine Products, Avon, Amway and Mary Kay Cosmetics.

Craig is a past board member of the Direct Selling Association (DSA), and served as president of Advantage Marketing Systems (AMS) and Enliven International, both nutritional network marketing companies.

Craig and his wife Marsha live outside Salt Lake City, and are at various stages of raising nine children.

Robert Kaelin – Vice President of Sales

Bob has achieved excellence in management, sales, marketing, manufacturing and packaging in his impressive career. Bob worked for 21 years with top American pharmaceutical companies, such as Miles Laboratories, Richardson Vicks, Johnson & Johnson and Whitehall Laboratories. He has introduced some of the most successful over-the-counter consumer products: Nyquil, Advil, Tylenol. Bob managed and built two manufacturing companies producing powders, capsules, tablets, liquids, creams and lotions for the direct selling industry.

Bob began a career in Network Marketing when he created USANA for Dr. Myron Wentz. As CEO of InnerLight International he developed programs and sales tools to instill confidence and enthusiasm in the employees and distributors. Bob negotiated the sale of InnerLight to the Quigley Corporation. While CEO of Univera Laboratories, Bob led the development of natural product alternatives to prescription drugs using the science, genomics and biological research of herbs and plants. As Director of Sales, Bob launched Sisel International in the U.S., Japan and New Zealand.

With cutting-edge experience in leading and directing all phases of national product introductions, Bob understands success comes from a creative and synergistic approach to product concept, development, market strategy, manufacturing and sales implementation. Erin Edmonds – Vice President Legal Affairs

Erin graduated with highest honors from the University of Utah in 1988 with a B.S. in Economics and a B.A. in Philosophy. She graduated with honors from Harvard Law School in 1991 followed by a one-year Ford Foundation Fellowship working with an esteemed professor from Harvard Law School.

She worked in the Manhattan office of what was then LeBoeuf, Lamb, Leiby & MacRae in complex litigation on various corporate subject matters ranging from defense against hostile takeover in merger and acquisition, to insurance defense, to derivative shareholder claims. She was also on the insurance regulation oversight team for LeBoeuf’s biggest client, Lloyd’s of London. After her tenure at LeBoeuf, she returned to Boston to do appellate litigation with Professor Charles Ogletree of Harvard Law School, to teach as a fellow at Harvard College (in legal history with Professor Morton Horwitz), and to work with her father, who is also an attorney, on matters ranging from criminal defense to plaintiffs’ tort claims. She also spent eighteen months helping a classmate who founded The B.E.L.L. Foundation, (a non-profit enterprise for underprivileged children), build, administer, and manage it from the ground up.

Erin has published two scholarly legal articles and one book review. She was the technical editor for the Harvard Women’s Law Journal, and has edited numerous books and articles. Her legal and business training, versatility, and experience working quickly on many issues simultaneously fit well with Max International needs.

Rick Nelson – Vice President of Business Development

An industry veteran for nearly 20 years, Rick started his career with Nu Skin Enterprises, an industry icon that set early growth records and became a billion-dollar giant in the direct selling space. In a variety of senior level roles, Rick worked directly with top producing field leaders and helped the company align resources, technology and strategy to grow organizations and markets around the world.

Rick spent over 10 years of his career in South Korea, three years of which running Nu Skin Korea that generated over $276 million ($15 to $19 million per month) in sales in less than 20 months in that challenging and dynamic market. He is expert and creative at attacking business, cultural and regulatory issues on a global scale

Rick has a deep understanding of how to optimize corporate performance as it applies to direct selling. He fully leverages corporate skill sets and expertise and maps the collective contributions of these talented individuals into increased efficiencies in field leader business operations, thus creating a long-term partnership for success for everyone concerned.

Rick graduated from the University of Utah in International Economics and holds a minor in the Korean language from Brigham Young University. Rick and Carol and their three children make their home in Holladay, Utah.

Eric Anderson VP of Sales & Support

Eric has an MBA with 19 years experience in Network marketing Management. For the past two years Eric has worked and served as Vice President of Global Sales for a network marketing company rapidly expanding in the US and throughout Europe and Asia. Eric has spent many years working in International market development and has lived over seas for several years.

He started in Network marketing management in 1989. Having served in many different management roles, Eric helped that company for 17 years as it grew to 1.5 billion in sales and entered into 42 countries.

David J. Bagley – Vice President of Product Development

Dave possesses a unique fusion of tested experience in nutritional product development, marketing, and sales. As the owner of an international nutrition company, Dave has experienced firsthand the value of unique products that are science based, novel, and deliver a recognizable benefit.

Dave has worked with and developed 14 international nutritional supplements with health care professionals from around the world including Ph.D’s and M.D’s with specialties ranging from holistics, a dean of science from a major international research university, and specialized neurovascular physiology.

Product categories of experience include antioxidant support, immune function, vasculokinetic support, joint care, weight loss, mood support, and athletic performance.

Dave’s additional experience includes: Franklin Covey Sales Associate to Fortune 500 companies (First Things First training), Small business consultant for Professional Marketing (Business strategy, marketing, and operations), and National Sales Manager for Impact Media, working with label companies for award winning singers and groups.

Dave earned both Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degrees from the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah.

Dave is committed to developing the most respected, beneficial, and science-based product lineup of any company.

Dave has been married 11 years and resides in Utah with his wife and three daughters.

Jeff Hanson – Chief Technical Officer

Jeff Hanson has more than 20 years experience as a software engineer and architect, including working as senior architect for Financial Fusion, chief architect for the Zareus SOA platform, and chief architect for eReinsure.com.

Jeff has designed and implemented systems for retail banking, global markets, mortgage lending, newspaper publishing, reinsurance, and others. Jeff is a member of the expert group for the Java Management Extensions Remote API specification and a member of the International Association of Architects (IASA).

Jeff has authored many articles and books for the software industry including Messaging Technology for the International Association of Software Architects (IASA) skills library.

Justin Call – Vice President of Customer Care

Justin comes to Max International with over 15 years of management experience, in sales, service and marketing, both in the U.S. and international markets. Prior to joining Max, Justin worked for Oracle, the world’s largest enterprise software company, working with Fortune 50 companies in the high tech and aerospace and defense industries.

Justin attended Brigham Young University, where he studied Business Management. While attending school, he went to work for an international movie production and distribution company, eventually becoming the VP of Sales and Marketing of a 600-person call center organization. During his time there, he was involved in restructuring the customer service department, developing numerous technology implementations, and starting preferred customer programs in England and Canada.

Justin and his wife, Jennifer, live just south of Salt Lake City with their 4 children.
