Why Glutathione Is The King
We often hear about many different anti-oxidants found in plants like EGCG in green tea, curcumin in tumeric, and resveratrol red grapes. These active polyphenol compounds have been shown to have anti-oxidant properties but actually the way that many of these compound achieve that is by increasing the production of glutathione.
After the annoucement of the new Cellgevity product I was looking through some of the ingredients in the product and doing some search online and at pubmed.gov. A common trait with these compounds is that they are Nrf-2 activators. On activating this transcription factor it induces the expression of various genes including those that encode for several antioxidant enzymes, including glutathione S-transferase and glutamate-cysteine ligase which is the enzyme required for the rate-limiting step in the synthesis of glutathione.
This recent journal article here studying natural products for cancer chemoprevention looks at quercetin and curcumin, two ingredients which are in Cellgevity. Another good article is here which investigates the multi-functional chemoprotective properties of these compounds. According to the research one way that these compounds may exhibit anti-cancer properties is by detoxifying carcinogens and pro-carinogens before they can cause a cell to initiate into a cancer cell by inducing the expression of phase II detoxifying enzymes such as glutathione peroxidase and gamma-glutamylcysteine synthetase (which is the catalyst for the first and rate-limiting step in the synthesis of glutathione).
This article looks at resveratrol protecting against cigaratte smoke and says:
Thus resveratrol attenuates CSE(cigarette smoke extract)-mediated GSH depletion by inducing GSH synthesis
Having read through this I can see how the new Cellgevity product delivers a one-two punch in being the ultimate glutathione product. First thanks to Riboceine, it delivers cysteine in he most effective manner possible, which is the critical component for glutathione synthesis and is difficult to get high levels of from a normal diet. Then it upregulates the production of glutathione by all the ingredients which are Nrf-2 activators.
Cellgevity also contains selenium, and unless you’re regularly eating brazil nuts, which is the food with by far the highest concentration of selenium, then you may be deficient in it. Again what selenium is particuarly necassary for is glutathione. From the Max website it says this about it:
Selenomethionine (Selenium) is the essential catalytic component of the enzyme glutathione peroxidase (GPx) and is absolutely required for its function. Selenium is needed as selenomethionine for the antioxidant enzyme, glutathione peroxidase. The glutathione peroxidase enzyme is responsible for the detoxification of lipid peroxides, and glutathione is absolutely required to regenerate this enzyme.
At the end of the day (well I first noticed at the start of the day!) is you can really notice the difference the Max products make in your energy levels and health, which validates the extensive science you can research on pubmed. So head over to the Max shop and start feeling what Cellgevity can do for you.
